I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Colorado (MFT.0001847) and have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, as well as Prepare Enrich. I earned my doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Florida State University, and my masters in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. I have also taught in the masters in Marital and Family Therapy program at the University of San Diego, and am a published couples and family researcher with a focus on individual and couples stress management.

Prior to my life as a therapist and researcher, I spent nine years in the Air Force and Air National Guard where I did two tours in Iraq. This experience without a doubt shaped my perspective on the importance of relationship health (with the self and others) in helping one get through tough times, and was a large part of the reason I went into the field of psychology and further into marriage and family therapy, which takes a more systemic perspective on mental health.

My time in the military, in addition to my masters level training from a biological, psychological, and sociological lens, has also influenced my therapeutic style. I am straightforward and draw from evidence-based treatments to help my clients get the results they desire. However, I also understand everyone has their own unique lived experiences and I aim to adapt my style and approach to fit the needs of each individual and family. I firmly believe every individual, couple, and family has their own inherent strengths that can be utilized to help guide them on their path to a healthier, more present and fuller life.
